Dr. Peter Hartig
BlueBiotech, Elmshorn, Germany
Dr. Hartig lectures about the potential of microalgae for industrial
and commercial use. From the 30.000 known microalgae actually only 5
are used worldwide. The 2 most used species are Spirulina and
Chlorella, which have big healthy features. That is why microalgae
will be of importance in the sixth Kondratieff cycle (health). Dr.
Hartig highlights the steps taken from research, one-single algae-cell
to the finished product and the use of microalgae as nutrient
supplements.
Actually BlueBioTech International produces nearly 1.500 tons of microalgae and has set up an effective and successful chain, which allows a lot of different marketing strategies. Furthermore Dr. Hartig demonstrates by another two examples, the big potential of microalgae in the field of energy-winning and in the medical oriented field of proteonomics.
