Registration Procedure
The registration procedure is completed in steps. First, the registrant provides information via the online registration regarding his or her participation in the symposium, including contact and education details as well as an optional contribution (poster or short talk, see below). An automated e-mail is sent to the registrant to confirm that their registration was successfully submitted. Shortly afterwards, the organising committee contacts the registrant via e-mail to make arrangements regarding travel, accommodation, and payment (please see reimbursement section). This information will be accessible for revisions and updates until the deadline for confirmation of attendance is met. After this deadline, no changes or refundable cancellations will be possible.

Payment Procedure
Shortly after the initial registration information has been provided (see above), the registrant will be prompted by the organising committee to log in again in order to pay the registration fee of €100 (most of which is subsequently reimbursed, see below). Payment can only be made by a valid credit card. Accepted credit cards include American Express, Diner's Club, Visa and MasterCard. The credit card information is transmitted by an encrypted secure connection and is stored in an encrypted form.

Reimbursement
The symposium has sponsorship from several sources, allowing us to cover all expenses, including travel (fixed amount depending on distance), accommodation, meals, and the participation fee for up to 150 participants. The participation fee of €100 is initially paid by the participant during the registration procedure, €85 of which is reimbursed along with travel expenses after the symposium. If the participant does not attend the symposium, then he/she will not be reimbursed.

Eligibility
Young researchers who obtained their undergraduate degree less than 10 years ago (with priority given to those who obtained their undergraduate degree less than 4 years ago) will be supported. Anyone with research experience that fits into the time frames mentioned is eligible for participation/reimbursement. The organising committee aims to ensure equal participation in the symposium of researchers from different countries.

Deadlines
Registration opens April 24, 2007
Registration closes September 28, 2007
Poster submission intention deadline   September 21, 2007
Abstract submission deadline September 30, 2007
Confirmation of attendance deadline October 14, 2007
Beginning of Symposium October 25, 2007
End of Symposium October 27, 2007

The organising committee reserves the right to change the deadlines or to cancel the symposium. In the event of cancellation, all funds received to date will be returned, and personal information collected will be discarded. All such changes will be communicated via the symposium webpage and any other possible means.

Posters and Abstracts
We would like to encourage the participants to present a poster, regardless of their field of research. Prizes will be awarded to the best three posters! The poster size should be A0 (841mm x 1189mm), portrait orientation. Submitted abstracts should not exceed 1500 words. You can submit and edit your abstract also after registration. Deadline for submission of abstracts is September 23. The organizing committee will select the posters that will be displayed at the symposium.

Short Talks
We offer all the participants an opportunity to give a short talk. The presentation should not last longer than 10 minutes, and will be held in a session especially for young speakers. You may choose to give a talk in addition to, or instead of, a poster presentation. As with posters and abstracts, you can choose to give a short talk or modify your choice after the initial online registration has been completed.

Security Concerns
The information entered in the registration pages is transmitted to us by an encrypted secure connection. This effectively means that no people or third parties can see the information sent to us. If in doubt about security issues, you are encouraged to contact us.

Confidentiality and Personal Information
The organising committee affirms that the personal information collected in the registration pages will be treated with the strictest confidentiality. The information collected is meant for communication with the participant and for statistical purposes only. No part or whole will be given to third parties, including EMBL and conference sponsoring companies. Each participant's contact information is displayed in the symposium abstract book at the discretion of that participant. After completion of the logistics of the symposium, this information will be discarded.
